Home Sleep Studies

A home sleep study records some of the same vital signs as a sleep clinic study. You are given a small computer to take home. You are shown how to attach the sensors to your body. A technician will help you. At bedtime, you plug the sensors into the computer and turn it on. In the morning, you remove the sensors and return the computer so the results can be studied.

Tips:

You’ll be given instructions on how to setup the sensors and the comer. Doing so will be simple. For best results:

    • Go through the instructions during the day so you’ll be ready to use the equipment at bedtime.
    • Ask if you should do anything differently before the study. Otherwise, stick to your normal routine.
    • If you get up during the night, reconnect the sensors to the computer and to yourself correctly.
    • Get as many hours of sleep as you can.
